Welcome to Alistair Davies Golf

At present I am a Senior Teaching Professional at the world renowned Belfry resort, a position held since 1998. During my time at The Belfry I have been fortunate to work as an integral member within various departments within the resort. This experience has enabled me to develop key skills and develop greater understanding into the operational requirements of such a large resort.
My professional coaching career began in 1999 when I passed my PGA exams with honours, achieving a highly coveted 3rd place in the Trainee of the Year awards. As reward for doing so I received a scholarship from title sponsor Titleist and Footjoy Worldwide. This was the point when I began my development and my association with The DeVere Belfry.
During my time at The Belfry I have operated two key roles; firstly as a purchasing manager in the retail sector. A key role that consisted of primarily of with the selection and purchasing of stock, with an average stock holding of nearly £400k, further responsibilities included merchandising and effective sales promotion. After spending three years combining golf retail with my coaching commitments, I decided to focus my attention towards my real passion; coaching.
The fantastic golfing environment at The Belfry (two championship courses and The National Teaching Academy) has allowed me to develop and refine my teaching skills. My role as a coach has expanded considerably to include the training / development / mentoring of trainee golf professionals. I now coach numerous professionals, elite internationals, county players and county teams. County teams include; Staffordshire (men’s, boys and ladies), Warwickshire (ladies and girls) and the Derbyshire boy’s squad!!!
In 2005 I was selected by the Professionals Golfers Association to lecture and train the Applied Golf Management Studies (AGMS) students from The University of Birmingham, a unique degree between the PGA and The University of Birmingham that allows students to gain both theoretical and academic understanding of the golf swing combined with the PGA professional status. I obviously jumped at this fantastic opportunity to be involved with training and development of future Professionals as well as being closely associated with the PGA, which is a great honour. Furthermore I am also a swing examiner for trainee Professionals (both AGMS and Diploma) undertaking their final PGA examinations.
After several years of continued professional development in 2005 my status within the Professionals Golfers’ Association was upgraded to Fellow Status (FPGA), an achievement that I am proud off and recognition for my continued hard work.
